THE SACRED GEOMETRY OF NATURE

THE BIRTH OF A DECORATION

With every step we take, if only we could truly open our eyes and see —

because beauty is everywhere.

In the curve of a shell, in the silent rhythm of a branch as it grows,

in petals that open always following an order no one has imposed.

It is the geometry of nature — and that is where I begin.

I am not the creator of my decorations.

I am rather a gatherer of the suggestions that come to me from nature.

The decoration that eventually takes shape is not mine; I did not create it.

It crossed through me.

I do not aim to represent nature, I choose instead to tell it — in a way that is essential and direct.

I gather, I listen, I give back.

My work does not seek perfect symmetry, but rather the breath of proportion —

the balance of small marks that recompose and shape living surfaces.

When my objects come out of the kiln for the last time, they long to live,

to inhabit life.

They do not yet know who will welcome them, but they are moved by a silent will:

to accompany, to honour the fleeting and precious moments of daily life.

With hands and heart,

LOU ArteCeramica
