EVERY PIECE HAS A DESTINY

THINKING OF CERAMICS AS A RELATIONAL GESTURE
My ceramics are not merely decorative, they are objects seeking connection.
A ceramic piece, to me, is more than an object, it is an intention — a presence looking for a home, a gesture that wants to inhabit the everyday.
The creations born in my atelier carry, from the very start, the quiet hope of being encountered, and when that encounter happens, something completes itself: a resonance is kindled. As I shape and decorate each piece,I think of someone out there who might already be waiting for it. I don’t work in closed collections, but in kindred clusters — each with its own rhythm, tone, and energy.
Every piece is unique, yet connected to the others by shared details that echo like stars in a constellation.
The person who chooses them will often compose a small new world without even knowing it. My creations find their place, they enter lives and homes. I imagine them there: on a laid table, on a shelf lit by sunlight, in the quiet dusk of the evening.
They are meant to bring value, to bring grace.
Because perhaps, in the end,it’s not just about making ceramics, it’s about creating bonds.
Giving form to something that stays with us,that resembles us, that speaks of who we are.
With hands and heart,
LOU ArteCeramica
